Boarding schools are terrible for that sort of thing.I remember a boy a few years below me whose surname was Laing. Because he had a very nasal voice, he was known as Twang. When his little sister came to the school a few years later, she started calling him taht too.
It's always nice when hurtful nicknames follow you home to your family life.

My dad found out what people called me at schooland would gleefully call me it whenever he was drunk. Cunt.
