No preference, the face is a more important determinant.
My hair is very dark brown but I'd prefer to have no hair at all. I keep it short because it's only ever a source of irritation; you just can't do anything with it, and it looks like a toupee if it's grown.

I don't think you'd prefer to have no hair at all.
I shaved my full beard off a couple of years ago, on 20th December. I have never, ever been so fundamentally cold as I was for the four weeks until my beard grew back.
