Alt: a Jedi dressing gown
www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/13346245/Star-Wars-Jedi-Dressing-Gown/Product.html

Partly because I need a new dressing gown that comes down past the knees, and partly to make my nephew think I'm even more awesome than he already does by waking him up on Boxing Day morning wearing it, brandishing a lightsaber.

Painting your knob with fluorescent paint does not make it a lightsaber

Oh
*cancels order for 5ml of flourescent green paint*

I was planning to get one of those *for* my nephew
he's a 4 year old boy. What's your excuse?

Oh, I could conjure plenty
I was born in '78, Star Wars is part of my cultural heritage... I'm reliving the joy of experiencing the films vicariously as I show them to my nephew... my current dressing gown is too short and my legs get cold... but we all know my reason is that the Jedi were COOL, and you know it.

I really would be in the wrong place, wouldn't I

I have one of these.
It's obvious that those chosen for Jedi training are at least 6'6" tall. Don't carry food or drinks or anything spillable while wearing, the sleeves tend to catch on fucking everything. The only two things it's good for are keeping warm and looking dark* and menacing** when opening the door.
* geeky
** crumpled
