Was it from your sex nose?

I ran two miles yesterday
I'm currently working on keeping my average pace on any run I do below 10 minutes a mile.

Is this a good technique, or should I just be concentrating on running really long distances?

If you can maintain that pace on longer runs it'll be a good achievement
It's very difficult to maintain a constant pace when you know a long distance is stretching out ahead of you. That practice should boost your fitness no end.

That said, they recommend that if you can't run 15 miles 6 weeks before trying a marathon, you won't make it. So you and I both need to up our maximum distance before next summer. Boosting your fitness before the weather is good enough for outdoor running is a good plan though.
