yeah,Only came a cropper once in the canal, slashed my foot on a submerged trolley. Pretty painful. Still, probably better than a cracked skull.

normally swim in the river in the summer.But have gone in the canal a few times as it's on the way back from the pub.

well yeah.But the only outdoor pool near here is rubbish. And there's a really nice fast flowing clean stretch of river near, and we can drink by the river.
