She campaigned against the one thing that would have actually helped the people she supposedly was helping
ie the empowering of women to plan their families through birth control because she was Catholic and let her beliefs encroach on people who couldn't resist them. The increase in the power of women in a country is one of the most powerful tools there is to develop said country.
