Fight Club is one of the closest adaptations I've seen
The Da Vinci Code managed to stick to the quality level of the book, good work Cunningham. Other good adaptations are Schindler's List, Muppet Christmas Carol and Trainspotting. According to my eldest son Eragon is the worst book to film adaptation ever but I've managed to avoid both so couldn't comment.

You're from Nottingham aren't you, Darth? My friend is arranging a stag do in May, any suggestions for good pubs/clubs/curiosities? The list doesn't stretch further than Rock City at the moment.

Worst book-to-film adaptation is Northern Lights/The Golden Compass
Staggeringly inept film-making.

I am indeed a Nottinghamian but never spent much of my drinking history outside of Rock City! I can recommend the Pit & Pendulum - deliberately overdone Gothy theme pub, like walking into a Hammer movie - and the Pitcher & Piano, converted church, fooking MASSIVE. This is assuming they're both still there, not been back in years.

They are.

Cheers for the suggestions
The crowd going up for this are not the outdoors adventure types, they're going more for indulgence than endurance. All the stag do companies suggest going to Hooters, which seems a good enough reason to give the place a wide berth.

I read Postcards From The Edge by Carrie Fisher after watching the film and they bore fuck all resemblance whilst being enjoyable in their own way.

Only Hooters in Britain, I believe
It's unbelievably fucking tawdry, as you'd expect, and also a fair trot from Rock City and most of the best pubs.

But it does have breasts.

Suggest you go somewhere else.
As an activity, I went white water rafting in the Trent. In November.

It was bracing.
