Some estimates say for every 50 acre site there will be about 240,000 tons of steel and 20,000 tons of aluminum
$470 per ton for steel at the moment.

The problems seem to be
that there aren't any specific machines to mine scrap heaps designed. So they have to use normal earth moving equipment which doesn't really like having fridges dropped on it.
Plus asbestos and trapped methane gas.
Still those problems could be sorted fairly easily with a bit of thought.

it's not usually recycled from toilet paper.
it's recycled from, well, recycled paper. So it might have Daily Mail on it, actually, so I'll take my chances with shit.
