Now then
Got bored - you once said you'd love to take your ol' man to Memphis - there's your holiday.

That might be a bit rich for me at this time of year.
I need to have a proper look at places. Where in europe would you suggest?
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:13, Reply)
Isn't Eastern Europe supposed to still be cheap?

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:13, Reply)
Dunno
I'll investigate!
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:16, Reply)
Don't really know much about Europe
I've always gone West.

You'd get a good price on transatlantic at the moment though.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:15, Reply)
Cheaper than an Italian cruise?

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:16, Reply)
Look it up!
I'm not your travel agent.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:16, Reply)
It was a joke!

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:17, Reply)
I bought a model of an Italian cruise - ship
I couldn't afford it, so I asked them to put it to one side.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:19, Reply)
Got anymore?

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:21, Reply)
Apart from the obvious "huge gash on the underside" ones, that's it.

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:30, Reply)
Wayhay!
What is new in TD Land?
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:33, Reply)
Every day is a new day
Every venture is a new venture.

How is the work situation going?

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:41, Reply)
Not very well
I'm living off driving at the moment.

One of my flats comes empty at the end of February and I may have to sell it.

I'm never skint, but right at the moment things are tight.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:53, Reply)
Well at least you're aware of that now, rather than just hoping the problem goes away.

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 22:54, Reply)
It was always a gamble
And I tried - but it just hasn't worked.

I know why and how it hasn't worked too. But I tried.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:04, Reply)
Better to have given it a try than it is to do nothing.
Do you have equity in the flat?
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:08, Reply)
Oh yeah...
One of the four that I own outright.

Like I said, I'm not skint but that was a bit of my retirement fund.

There's also a number of houses. What worries me now is how far I've got to chip into them.

EDIT - Yes I'm a slum landlord.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:21, Reply)
Ah, but you're still more prepared than most.
And on that basis, you can sort yourself out, and also start a new project or two with some of the capital.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:26, Reply)
I've also got a bigger CV than most
I miss working hard. I'm the best strategic planner I've ever met. I'm bored shitless right now.

I work best in a company in meltdown and I drag it back again by myself, without the public sector insistence on committee.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:33, Reply)
Why not see if the 'in administration' sector are recruiting?

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:39, Reply)
I have my eye on something
It's been badly managed, it needs a cash injection which I could probably manage, it's local.

Never worry about TD.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:44, Reply)
Oh, but I do mate!

(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:44, Reply)
I may be an idiot on b3ta
But I'm not an idiot really.

The property thing was the first kick in the nads I've ever had.
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:51, Reply)
Why is the property available?
'ere, you ain't one of them slum landlords are ya?
(, Thu 26 Jan 2012, 23:53, Reply)
I make no bones about being a slum landlord - I am one
And I've just been cleaning cat sick off my kitchen floor.

Bedtime.
