To echo what everyone is saying, a walk along the South Bank is very enjoyable.
Would recommend a trip to Borough Market, even just to have a look round. The walk up from St James (pelicans) through Green Park (trees) and up to Hyde Park (more waterfowl) is nice and not too taxing.
