I've been to the Egyptian War Museum in Cairo. There is a satue outside of a (modern looking) Egyptian soldier and underneath it says something like "World's Greatest Warrior".
Not against the Israelis in 56,67 & 73 they weren't.

In 1973 they dug their tanks in, in the desert. And than back filled sand behind the tanks.
The Israelis took shooting practice at the tanks because they had a greater range.
