My father picked me up from Washington and we drove to Williamsburg.
It was fucking incredible - shitloads of those old knackered shacks you see in Depression programmes, still there and in some cases still occupied. It was like a blues documentary.

I have heard tales that, outside of the touristy and politilol areas

I have friends there.
I haven't been to visit since their wedding in 2008 and, what with no longer being tied to always going to Canada, I'm free to visit!
