This is true
However the Cash version was also palpably not a patch on the original

*holds hand up*
I prefer the Cash version.

I agree
As does Trent Reznor, it is therefore better

i think they're both shit

I think the original works if you're 14 years old and still think Billie Joe Armstrong writes "deep" lyrics
If you're not, Cash's version at least delivers the song in a vaguely respectable manner.

Both are, however, inferior to Sad Kermit's interpretation.

I assume you're aware that Hurt is by Nine Inch Nails
and that this is some hilarious wind-up
(, Mon 12 Mar 2012, 12:06, Reply)
Yes, I am fully aware that "Hurt" was written by Trent Reznor
No, this is not a wind-up. Sorry, I grew out of most of the teen-angst-bollocks that I enjoyed when I was that age. There's very little of it now that I can still listen to.

I've just worked out what you meant by the Billie Joe reference
Apologies, I thought you were confused rather than dismissing by association.

I'm actually with you on this in general, Hurt being one of a very few songs from the mid-to-late 90s that I still love
