I discovered so many bands that way.Although I still do today with the CDs that come with Uncut, Mojo and The Word. But the tapes were better.

Uncut used to do that Unconditionally Guaranteed seriesWhich, while the tracks on it were usually pretty good, was flawed because they often had picked the only good song by a particular band.
Disappointing album purchases occasionally followed.
