Good is relative
I think it's better now than it was in the Home Sweet Home thread days. There's nothing sadder than people having fucking pretend tea parties on a message board.

But when I first got here it was at least funny.
Anfd if there *was* bitchiness and cruelty, it was by all of us at a common target outside of /OT.
These days we're like a couple that's barely clinging to a facade of marriage for the sake of the children, when everyone knows they'd rather eat shit than be civil to each other.

I don't think it's that serious.
I think the problem is that everyone seems to think everyone else is serious. It's all just a bit of fun, no?

There was a right cringeworthy phase of people linking up their lies on qotw so that the offtopic 'crew' could amaze at what interesting lives they had

Those 'stories' that end in particularly contrived pun
or the ones where halfway through you realise they're talking about a 'character' in a 'film' are why I stopped reading QOTW.
They are unremittingly dull.

I miss the good old days of lolling at fantasists who'd beaten up drug dealers and peedos and then had sex with someone

I remember the days of /all where you could see how close you were to winning
and the complaints when it was taken away because "people were rigging the vote"
