Buying a car at the moment (boring family Volvo estate)Can't work out if diesel or petrol is best based on 10,000 miles a year. Diesel is more expensive than petrol, but provides better economy.

new diesel cars are no longer viableI think the telegraph motoring section had something on this recently.
But generally 10k is not eniough miles to offset the purchase price

diesels cost a cockload more to serviceespecially now they all have DPFs and EGR systems.
I'm learning the hard way.
