This happened to me last year
(if indeed it has happened to you, Bill Clay).
I suffered for a couple of months, then went to get my ears syringed and within seconds was able to hear again.

I went to the doctors early on and they said it was fluid behind the eardrum
I've been doing a couple of 'bowls' *snicker* a day since then to no avail. The constant buzzing and lack of hearing makes me really irritable and disorientated.
