Percent, a part out of one hundred. Perkilo, a part of one thousand. X = 10, M = 1000.
What's the word for the 10ks ? Could you write it something like ^o/_mk or would it be ^o/_km? I'm sure one would mean 10,000 and the other would mean 990.
