I'm looking up tips for outlook 2007 so I can make it even easier to spot the important emails
(from my friends) and ignore the boring emails about work.

Can't you just set up rules so that emails from certain senders get diverted to certain folders?

I wanted different coloured flags

Skipped from 2003 to 2010. Set up rules to redirect emails into different folders, then add a shortcut to the folder of emails you want into Favourites?
