Not yet.Despite being told last week I (along with 3 other FTC's) could apply for a funding officer role, we were then called into a meeting to be told the unions had got wind of this and objected very strongly, to the point where management decided it wasn't worth risking any long, drawn out grievance cases.
On the plus side, if our current colleagues succeed in their applications our contracts will probably be extended as a result to fill the gaps, and common thinking is that those who succeed in their promotion are unlikely to revert to their current grade.
