if you don't put the efffort in to stacking them right and pre-washing themthey come out dirty and I'm not convinced that just washing them in the first place isn't less effort.

But the slats are done so it's obvious what goes where? Unless you're a nonce like Scaryduck then yeah you just shove things where they don't belong.
