when did The Falklands ever belong to Argentina or were inhabited by Argentinians.

By the time we settled them in 1833, they had been empty for years. The Argentinians have never had people living there. When we settled them, Argentina wasn't even a country yet.

Spain gave all its south american colonies to the newly formed Argentina, so the spanish occupation is part of the argentine claim.
