I leave radio 4 on, with the time switch set for an hour or so.It helps to distract my mind from the pressures of real life.

We used to leave R4 (and the world service) on through the nightWhen little tangle was a baby. This was in the days when it still had the theme music at the start of each day, which in our sleep-deprived state was utterly bizarre.

This is why I have a timer.I used to be woken by sailing by or the UK theme. Now if I wake up, I reset the timer and get another hour, which I don't because I'm soon back to sleep.
