It's meant to be used in cooking, so of course it is.You don't get many people going "Oh, I'm partial to a bit of cumberland sausage, but they're not that good raw"

The larger ones are sold in wafer thin slices as a salami and are not intended for cooking.As I understand it there are two distincly different types: 'cooking chorizo' and this other one. I dislike it.
