When i was a teenager my best friend was a somewhat stout 'new age traveller' type girl who lived in a caravan. We had much fun going to festivals and generally caning it up*. After a good year of larking about she confessed her undying love for me. I had no idea she felt that way and was aghast. I just didn't feel the same way and she fucked off in something of a state to America and followed Jane's Addiction on tour. I think she has a kid (or two) with their drummer.

I miss her actually, she was a right fucking laugh.

*she dealt LSD and would give them to me to 'test drive' when she got new batches.

I went to shitloads of free festivals and had many pals who lived that shit full time in army lorries etc - but I was only 14/15 and lived with my loving academic parents in a million pound house - by which I mean 'I lived in a teepee just off the M3 maaaann'.


My brother and I were typical 'trustafarian' spastics but
