I couldn't afford to keep mine on the roadand, given that I couldn't get a parking permit either for work or for the street on which I live...it made it somewhat redundant.

yeah, the council are bellends, But its all part of their grand plan to reduce car use in the city. I'm sort of all for it, until I get hit by a bus.
