two of the spice girls (to this day no in is quite sure which) released an album called Dummy. They had invented a back story for a band called Portishead, and the album was a subversive joke, tying to show how terrible the future of music was, that all the future heralded outside of pop music was a dreary mix of hip hop and psychadelia. Their plan backfired spectacularly, and musicians were drafted in to become the portishead you know. Portishead is a lie.
