I think it depends on what other responsibilities you have.
If you have a job to attend, for example, then drinking first thing in the morning is not really acceptable (unless your job is wine-taster or something).
But if you are at a festival and your only responsibility for the day is yourself, I don't see any problem with getting started as soon as you feel ready to.
Unless you are one of these fools who can't handle it properly and end up killing yourself with alcohol poisoning or something. Stop spoiling it for the rest of us.
