I read a great article on the furore around The Satanic Verses. Fascinating. Peter Sissons received death threats at the time. I really like The Satanic Verses, I thought that as it explored the immigrant experience it would be something that Muslims would identify with. Unfortunately not.

It's almost like they're rabid fanatics who are actively seeking things to get offended about
