I am a huge fan of those historical big-budget epics*.
They're excellent, as are John Woo's earlier pre-US gangster films. I loved the 'Chinese Ghost Stories' series too.

*'Mongol' (lol) is superb. It's about G. Khan obv.

All this build up and running about on the steppes and hiding out in Chink prisons and just as it's about to get truly badass the fucking film ends.

There's a really cracking film about Genghis Khan that we keep seeing
where Genghis is as white and American as they come, and all his family and tribe are bit swarthy.
Real MGM-history stuff. Couldn't possibly have any slitty-eyed actors playing the famous slitty-eyed Mongol warlord.
