I read this morning some appalling statistic
that was something along the lines of 'over half the population now get more from the state than they contribute' or something. As with all these things some self-righteous champion of the common man will pop up on here and tell me it's not true but it didn't sound good.

While it doesn't apply to Satanists such as yourself
I do get pissed off with people who make a big deal out of being a capital C Christian, and then say the poor are workshy scroungers who should have their benefits slashed and a good kick up the arse.

I'm fairly certain Jesus was pretty keen on helping the poor, actually.

Boyce, old boy.
Of course they do. It's basic maths. at least half the population must take more than they give. because of the way the earnings distributions worhk, it's going to be closer to 75%. Probably 90%. You are certainly in the portion that takes more than they give. So, I'm willing to bet, are more than 90% of the people on here.

Not true, the % of the population taking more than they give has risen from around 40% in1970
to 50% now, the large proportion of that rise occuring under the last ALbour government as they spent freely with little or no thought for how that money would need to be paid back.

bollocks. Absolute arse, Nakers.
All that will have changed is the way it is measured. The way these numbers are represented depends on the political aims of the groups representing them. Unless your country is turning over a tidy profit, you're spending more than you take, or at least are level. The majority of the tax income comes from about the top 10-20% of taxpayers, so it pretty much follows that there's a good chance anyone below that will be "taking out more than they put in" once you have equally split the cost of every single thing the government spend money on between 60 million residents.
