I just read the Starbucks defence of their 0% corporation tax for three years.
"Over the last three years alone, our company has paid more than £160m in various taxes, including national insurance contributions, VAT and business rates."

I like that they have to keep VAT in that figure to make it seem bigger, when VAT is just collected by a company not paid for by a company.

Also, 160 million from a multinational company
worth billions isn't a lot of tax.

That's not even per year, it's over three years.
Well done well done.

53 million per year.
I am fairly sure Swipe thinks she pays more than that.

It was longer than that I think.

Gnah', for fuck's sake.
These companies are on fucking cloud coocoo land, and the goverment are letting them get away with it. If anyone walked out of a supermarket with a trolly full of shopping and said "I spend £xx a week*, why the hell should I pay your prices?", then they'd be thrown out straight away.

If they don't like our rules, then they should fuck off. I couldn't care less if Vodafone or Starbucks don't operate over here anymore. They only do it 'cus the people in charge are a bunch of pussyoles.

* But take £xxx worth of goods, but don't mention that.
