Since this thread is not really going anywhere.
Can people give me tips for saving money. I've got to start saving for flights/hotel to Vegas next summer.

I have, but as I have a possible (but probably) 4 month redundancy payment coming next year
The increase in wage will have to be significant.

Next summer is ages away.
Worry about it nearer the time. If you get another job straight away then you can use the redundancy money to fund the trip.
