In Xcom, right, all your soldiers have a nationality which they display via a flag on their back.
You can get all sorts, Nigeria, Israel, South Africa and also the United Kingdom.

The Scottish get their own. Just the Scots. There's no English, or Irish, or Welsh soldiers, they're all part of the UK. Scotland is separate. It's not the first time I've seen that happen in American-made stuff. I've seen it on a telly programme, too.
