it is in the solicitors accounts rule: lawyers can't count
we have a brilliant resi team, but they would be three times the price that lighty needs to pay for this kind of deal.

Totally, I'm talking about residential solicitors here
but fucking seriously? it is SUCH a simple piece of maths and they never get it right.

And, oh, call me cynical, but up here, where everything is simpler and transactions are fixed fee and solicitors have no vested interest in delaying stuff, everything remarkably takes place smoothly with very few errors. I can't imagine why.
