But anything that gives us all a good excuse to get together and hang out is fine by me. My family are pretty shit at organising getting together, so these hallmark events, although slightly sickmaking, do some real good for me and seeing people I miss.

I'll go see them some other time. Even if it was fun, I don't think it's worth the 6 weeks of unpleasantness caused by stressed people in shops

This is the beauty of working during everyone else's free time. When I go shopping on a Monday afternoon, everything is nice and calm. I guess I miss a lot of the normal stresses by only ever having Christmas day off, and spending tbat one day with dad is awesome, as he finally relaxes for a bit.
