My immediate superior is a Brummie. I'd be willing to forgive him this
as you can't choose where you're brought up and he was sensible enough to move BUT, although he's a decent guy, he's not a very good manager. Good techie, not a great manager.

His boss is the IT director. He's from Yorkshire, or something. Northern, anyway. He's got one of them booming Northern voices. Every Tuesday he marches in with an "ALRIGHT, GIRLS?" This is funny because we're all men, except for the women in the department but we don't talk about them. He's not very technical, but he's a gadget nut. He brought in one of those speakers that you stick to flat surfaces and it uses those as a driver. He stuck it to one of the glass dividing panels in the office and drowned the entire office out with shitty music. He had a big grin on face that said "I'm a director, I can do whatever the fuck I want."

I quite like our director.
