To be honest I don't see a problem with getting some beer and wine and playing a board game with your mates on the weekend.
Cheaper than the pub, more fun than watching a film and it start hilarious arguments.

Settlers of Catan is good.
Escape from Colditz does the rounds as does Axis vs Allies, but that takes like a whole day.
