I only caught the second hour of the event.
That WatchDogs looks quite impressive, and that Unreal 4 Engine was impressive too. I think this generation might be able to do the "Is that video or cgi?" effect. They're as good as film effects and thats just pre-release demos, let alone X years into the generation.

Problem being that because the graphics are so good, games take a lot more time to make.
We'll be seeing £40 games over in 3ish hours soon.

yeah, well I've not played anything for several years
but i don't have the inclination to spends weeks and weeks completing something like GTA. i can complete Super Mario on the game boy

Yeah', although I'm not 100% sure.
True, the graphics are way way way better, part of it is down to being able to handle things better, the way light reflects and the way fire moves. One of the main things they were showing off is the handling of fire, but the way they insert that into a game is pretty much the same except there are a few more option boxes. Something like a "A stick that is on fire at the end" will work exactly the same to the developer.
