I was thinking that they will sell ad space based on how many visits people make to the site, the virtual circulation
will ad block stop them knowing I've been there? for 'tis already installed.

Im not sure on that, some sites flash up "ad block detected"
and make you disable adblock, so they obviously care that you see the ads
