I believe David Tennant has already started filming the Christmas episode, and is signed up for four specials next season, rather than a full series.

But not this week... Tennant is very firmly signed up for the specials next year I believe. Besides, wouldn't make sense having a new Doc and then no full new series until 2010.

David Morrisey's name is being banded about
He is appearing in the Christmas special.

There has also been talk of there being two Doctors for a little while - something to do with the regeneration and the spare hand.

Is quite a good actor I think. I seem to recall him playing total mentalist with an obsession over all things American. You didn't know he was a mentalist at first.

*Ahem* Some intermeweb rumours say that he's playing a conman who pretends to be the Doctor, then finds himself totally out of his depth when some real aliens show up...

Myself, I'm waiting until Christmas. I read one forum in particular at times, and the totally unfounded speculation based on no evidence whatsoever that goes on has me banging my head off the desk sometimes...

Especially when people come up with possible plot outlines...it's a bit like Christmas or going on holiday - the anticipation is all part of the pleasure.

If he is the dr he won't be that bad. I thought Catherine Tate would be awful (i hate her comedy show) but actually she's not that bad.
I think we need someone a bit better looking than David Morrisey tho. Something for the parents of the kids watching to ogle :)
