1. You don't want to have to mess about parking or to have to keep going outside to feed the meter.
2. You don't want to drive when you're that distracted (trust me, you will be).
3. You may go quite some time without sleep (my wife's labour lasted 54 hours) - no way I'd want to drive home after going that long without sleep.

Get a taxi.
