Hawkwind are better now than at any time since the early 90s.
They are better now than they were for a good proportion of the late 70s/early 80s too.

They recruited a new bassist a couple years ago and have beefed up their sound as a result.
They've also ditched a lot of the electronic bits from their sets which could be a bit dull - and as a band famous for light shows, stage sets etc technology has caught up with them and their shows look better than ever. Digital projections are way, way better than the old slide ones despite their nostalgic appeal.
