ah, InFest
Monty's favourite festival.

It's the Woodstock of our time.

Christ, I just looked at the lineup.
www.infestuk.com/artists/

It's like that one time I went to Wendy House in Leeds, but an entire festival based around people that still listen to KMFDM.
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 8:50, Reply)
Yeah that's about right
In fact KMFDM were scheduled to play last year but pulled out. Imperative Reaction are headlining this year. I am massively, massively excited about this and fuck anyone who mocks me for it.

All that Martin, and it's being held in Bradford too !!

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 8:54, Reply)
What could be finer?

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 8:56, Reply)
No even that treething festival that you keep banging on about !

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:01, Reply)
See, the best thing about Bradford is the fit Asian birds, but Martin's a homosexual so he misses out on that one saving grace in an otherwise bleak and suffering city.

IKR
What better city in which to hold a goth festival than one populated by intolerant cunts who like scrappin'
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 8:57, Reply)
It's not really goth though, is it.

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:05, Reply)
Not really
but a lot of the attendees are
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:08, Reply)
A lot of the attendees still seem to think it's 1995.
It's pitiful really.

I was a big industrial fan when I was 15 or so.
That's what pointed me in the direction of Warp and Rephlex.
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 8:54, Reply)
Queer.
LFO pointed me in the direction of Warp. When they released loads of shit I pointed myself in the direction of other things.

They released some pretty decent compilations of early bleep techno which I have (I think that was Warp anyway).
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 8:58, Reply)
cor see early biosphere for shakin bleep innit bruv

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:02, Reply)
Early autechre as well, Incunabula and Amber.

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:04, Reply)
i still listen to those on a regular basis, true story

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:05, Reply)
Me too.
Autechre vanished up their own arses. Started out making very melodic, crystalline, hip hop influenced electonics, descended into glitch for the sake of it, alienating shit.

Those fellas know their way around a melody fo sho.
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:08, Reply)
I am reading this in the style of Jo Whiley

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:25, Reply)
As if Jo Wiley has even the faintest idea who Autechre are.

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:25, Reply)
Pretty sure he's calling you a cunt.

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:29, Reply)
I'm pretty sure he's calling everybody a cunt, all the time.

:'(

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:31, Reply)
Ooh, Push Button Objects, that takes me back.
Shit lineups though, you need to get down to InFest, that's proper electronic music, not that pretentious 'underground' shit that you listen to, purely because it's obscure.

It's obscure for a reason, fucknuts.

Warp lost their way when they started signing guitar bands.
LFO were great. Most of their acts were, some still are- Jamie Lidell, for example, is excellent.

What compilations are those? Artificial Intelligence?
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:03, Reply)
first two of those were boss

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:05, Reply)
Yer
Did you get any of those Warp 10 compilations? I have the remixes one, Mogwai covered Arcadian by Link. It's well good.
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:09, Reply)
nah artificial intelligence 1 & II were my warp period

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:12, Reply)
That's no bad thing.
Were you not into Boards of Canada and Plaid and that?
(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:12, Reply)
well yeah, but haven't bothered with any warp compilations since artificial ii, not sure why

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 9:19, Reply)
I haven't kept up with Warp for a few years now.
Like I said, they lost focus when they started signing bands like Maximo Park. They nearly signed Mogwai when they left Chemikal Underground, I would have approved of that.

You into Seefeel? I've been digging them lately, they're vintage Warp.
