Quietly fix it, tell the colleague what you've done then they owe you massively from here on
which you may or may not have a use for at a later date.

The trouble is it'll take me a couple of days to fix.
I was just talking to the guy whos our client-guy and I accidently blurted it out, and he told me to email the dev and boss (he called me a hero), but I feel like a dick.

Just because you couldn't quietly fix it doesn't mean it's not critical to fix so your professional obligations far outweigh loyalty to your colleague - who, by the way, should thank you even if they get bollocked.
