he spent the evening flicking between channels.slouched on his worn leather sofa, the sun had gone down long ago but he hadn't bothered to close the curtains yet. this hadn't been the plan. this wasn't how things were meant to be. he thought about the time he first met her. that was more like it. we had plans, beautiful ridiculous plans. we should have been working on making a family by now, her pursuing her home-made candles business and he working his way up the corporate ladder. but dreams rarely come true, and his had died along with their first child.
