The A3 is FWD
And the Corrado is based on the mk3 Golf

The VR6 wasn't based on the Golf - front axle was too wide. The smaller engined cars were based on the golf though. Mk2 I think.

That particular Merc was crap. The Porsche 944 Turbo from the same time period would be a good choice.
