I use clippers - have done for at least 15 years.
No3 all over, including the beard. Trim edges etc with scissors, G/F does the back of neck.
Buy good clippers unless you want to be half cutting your hair, half pulling it out by the roots.

Clippers, open razor on neck eyebrows etc. Ladies what do you spunk out out for a trim?
