Why
is there a suggestions board for QOTW?
"I know what would make for some great anecdotes, people making a list of films they like!"
I propose a hijack.

It'll be a week full of bad puns
Lots of people repeating the same films and a few going entirely off at a tangent and producing some really entertaining stories.
The entertaining stories will make the Best Page, they usually do.
How closely you stick to the Question is entirely up to you - I honestly don't think a Mod is going to remove someone's post because they end up telling a story about a trip to the cinema and how it had a huge effect upon their life if it's entertaining.

It doesn't bode well.
It's okay though, as I really should be working anyway...

hear hear!
What an awful QOTW. Mind you, it hasn't stopped me posting on it.
And the last really bad QOTW (Mix tapes) produced my fave answer ever, so who am I to write this one off so soon?

I was worried...
I'm in France next week and b3ta-less. I was a bit worried that it'd be a good question. But it isn't, so that's OK.

Chickenlady's right
It'll be a case of picking out the few good answers, and groaning at the bad puns.
At least for today we'll all be reminded of films that we like, then we'll be reminded of them again tomorrow. And again the next day...
It'll be like Groundhog Day for the QOTW world.

Is it just me
or do the b3ta mods not realise the potential that QOTW has in being a new social paradigm where we present ourselves at our worse - sort of like an inverse dating-agency? The sharing of our darkest and most embarrassing secrets brings us closer together.
Ever notice how with the image challenge, the new one opens before the old one is closed, but with QOTW, there's a gap where no QOTW is open. It has been known to last for more than two hours. I suspect the mods sometimes consider QOTW a thorn in their side and like to play cruel practical jokes on us by picking uninspiring QOTWs or picking the time the QOTW is closed randomly. Originally, QOTW was invented to fill up time on the b3ta radio-show, but now has taken on a life of it’s own. Maybe QOTW should declare independence from the rest of b3ta.
In the mean time, check out my suggestions for improving QOTW.

If we truly wanted to be an independent entity
I'm sure someone could set up a bulletin board somewhere- but this one already exists, we know where it is and we get new people coming to it on a regular basis. I'd hate to start up a separate site and then have it become an insular community known only to the few who post there. Lots of boards like that are out there already...

It's not a great week
That's for sure. I loved mistaspakkaman's suggestion about adhesives, because sooner or later it's going to be as bad as "How as sellotape affected your life".
I've posted what amounts to a six paragraph review of three films I like and it's utter, utter shit.
Sorry.
Where is frankspencer when b3ta needs him?

Suggestion:
I loved CHCB's suggestion:
"I was once dumped by a Blues musician - woke up this morning and the fecker had gone. Tell us the ironies in your life while avoiding Alanis Morissette comments."
I can't think of any RL stories, but I sure as heck reckon I could invent a couple of decent ones for this topic.
I vote we have this as our challenge for the week.
p.s. sorry I've been 'out of the office' a bit lately but will try harder.
@Seasonticketless: I might ask The Bean Countin' Man if he's got a story for this week...or maybe one of his friends.
