you can't decide on one car let alone a barn full

(, Tue 30 Jul 2013, 20:05, Reply)
I could reel off a list of cars to fill a barn three times in a minute

then where will your mum sleep?

(, Tue 30 Jul 2013, 20:10, Reply)

I hope you've invested your inheritance in a hedge fund!

I haven't got my grubby little mitts on it, yet.

now, I'm not an FCA authorised Financial Adviser
But a wise course of action would be to put £11,520 in a stocks and shares ISA and the rest in an OEIC in a range of funds in line with your attitude to risk. Don't wait too long to buy a flat though, property has bounced back and is forecast to do 4% a year at least over the next few years and 42% by 2020.

or a cash ISA and a hedge fund

It's all lies......
Turn it into Gold and bury it in the back garden

I was going to do a split between cash and stocks ISAs.
The rest I was going to do something else with that I haven't thought about yet.

Treat Monty and Stunned to a drug and beer party on you?

(, Tue 30 Jul 2013, 20:27, Reply)
meh, cash ISAs are shit
A properly diversified S&S portfolio has fixed interest and property funds, higher risk than cash but better returns. Choose about 12 funds, no more than 15% of the investment in overseas equities, 20% in fixed interest/property funds, rest in UK/ developed markets equities.

I can't really afford to take a lot of risks with it.
I want a decent compromise, I guess. I'd also only be investing it for a year or so as it's about a 20-30% deposit on a place, once I've paid off debts and bought cars.

have you considered shoving up your cock end and shitting out some nazi gold?

(, Tue 30 Jul 2013, 20:33, Reply)
a rainbow?

(, Tue 30 Jul 2013, 20:47, Reply)
Yer, Balanced risk profile.
In that case, no overseas equities then.
